Do Vampires Feed On Decapitated Snakes?

Okay, I was not present for a lecture here recently in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, during which, according to my husband, this photo was part of a Power Point presentation of life at the turn of the century (the last one) here in Mineral Point.
The lecturer explained that this circa. 1900 photo depicts a young girl standing on a decapitated snake with a dog (that looks like it's from another planet) watching her.
Is this girl a vampire and did the girl bite the head off this snake? I have read that if a vampire cannot find a nice warm mammal it will settle for cold blooded creatures. I have not read the Twilight vampire books but I think I remember (I saw the first movie en route on Aer Lingus from Dublin to Chicago a few years ago)that the non-people predator vampires in the movie were eating forest animals?
Of course, it is entirely possible that the little dog did the biting and decapitating.
But the discovery of this photo certainly adds fuel to the fire about my theory that there are vampires lurking about here in Mineral Point.
Irish Dancer-Girl Detective Liffey Rivers will get to the bottom of it eventually.

Brenna Briggs is the author of the Liffey Rivers Irish Dancer Mysteries.
